"Higher Taxes for Fun and Games?" is the theme of the 11th annual conference sponsored by the Utah Taxpayers Association April 27 at Little America Hotel, according to Jack Olson, association executive director.

Some of the subjects scheduled for discussion include tax limitation, impacts of regulations and fees on Utah business, the risks and costs of Lake Wasatch, Utah's winter Olympic bid, who pays for the new Salt Palace and making Utah better.Speakers will include State Budget Director Dale Hatch; Howard Stephenson, Utah Taxpayers Association; Larry Bunkall, Utah Manufacturers Association president; attorney David Bird; Rep. Stanley M. Smedley, R-Bountiful; Salt Lake County Commissioners Mike Stewart and Bart Barker; Mayor Palmer DePaulis; Tom Welch, Winter Games Organizing Committee chairman; and Richard P. Lindsay, managing director of public affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
