Rep. Mel Brown, R-Midvale, has been selected to serve on the Children, Families and Social Services Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

The committee is part of the group's Assembly on the Legislature, which serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among state legislatures. They meet three times a year to address critical issues.This year the committee will consider welfare reform, child-support enforcement, child care and education and training. In addition to studying the funding of health and human service programs, the committee will complete a publication, "Family Policy: Recommendations for State Action."
