A judge has delayed a decision on the extradition of John Casey, 47, Ogden, sought by Arizona authorities in the slaying of a 14-year-old Flagstaff boy.

First District Judge Gordon Low heard arguments from attorneys Wednesday and ordered them to prepare memos on the question of the sufficiency of the documentation for the extradition.Low gave the attorneys 10 days to submit the memos and said he would make his decision sometime after that.

Casey was arrested Nov. 19 near Snowville.

He is accused in the slaying of James Lee Haney, whose body was found Nov. 7, covered by blankets in an abandoned transient camp in south Flagstaff.

An autopsy indicated he was killed by blows to the head, and officials said there was evidence he may have been sexually assaulted.
