Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has been given an award by the Medical Group Management Association for his work to improve the nation's health care.

Hatch is the ranking Republican and former chairman of the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee, which oversees health issues and has dealt in recent years with issues ranging from AIDS to catastrophic health care insurance.Hatch thanked the group saying, "Without a doubt, America has the best health care system in the world. We lead the world in the quality of biomedical research, in biotechnology, in our training of health care professions and in finding effective treatments and cures for diseases."
