Actor Carroll O'Connor, who underwent heart bypass and gallbladder surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, was discharged Tuesday and said, "I feel a lot better than when I went in."

O'Connor, 64, was admitted to the hospital March 10 after a routine physical examination. He was working on his current series, "In The Heat Of The Night," in nearby Covington at the time.He underwent coronary artery bypass graft surgery the next day. The gallbladder surgery was performed March 20 after O'Connor developed unrelated gallbladder problems while recovering from the bypass.
