Residents interested in finding out where Provo City plans to spend its $1 million surplus are invited to attend this week's City Council meeting in the Provo City Center.
The Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. March 28 on the transfer of funds from the general fund to the capital improvements fund. Most of the money will go toward water laterals and the softball quadruplex construction.Provo's excess funds come from economic development and efficient operations in government during the past few years.
The Council will also vote on an ordinance amending the fire prevention code to the 1988 Uniform Fire Code and Standards.
The 1988 Uniform Building Code and Standards, the Uniform Mechanic Code, the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Code for the abatement of dangerous buildings will be voted on as well.
At the Council's 6 p.m. study session, members will discuss downtown parking.
