Salt Lake police are investigating the weekend stabbings of five people and the shooting of another.

Authorities say three of the stabbings and the shooting may be gang related.Officers responded to a party at 1177 S. Third East shortly before midnight Saturday where a 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were stabbed.

Witnesses told police five teens, described as "rockers," crashed a party at the apartment, Lt. Joel Campbell said.

The youths "hadn't chipped in for the second keg so they were kicked out and one of the guys pulled a knife," said Sgt. Ed Lyman. The five fled in a vehicle.

Ronnie Lucero, 19, was stabbed once in the abdomen. The girl, whose name was not released, was stabbed once under the right-side rib cage. Both were taken to LDS Hospital and were in fair condition.

Earlier Saturday, four people were injured in separate attacks on Salt Lake's west side. Overtones of gang loyalty were apparent in the incidents, authorities said.

Richard N. Valdez, 18, suffered three stab wounds following an altercation at an apartment near Fifth North and Eighth West. The victim reported that several teenagers threw bricks through the apartment windows and kicked in the door and attacked him.

Eugene Gonzales, 33, was attacked about 45 minutes later when a group of teenagers claiming alliance with the gang "VCF" broke into another apartment and kicked a woman in the chest and hit an 8-year-old boy in the face. The group then reportedly attacked Gonzales who was stabbed five times.

Minutes later Gustavo Bravo-Gonzales was found at 1216 W. Pacific Ave., with three stab wounds to his upper chest and right calf. A group of teenagers was reportedly seen scattering after shots were fired. Steve Gonzales, 22, was treated and released from a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the buttocks area.
