The National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty will hold its Western regional conference in Salt Lake City April 28-30.

Keynote speaker will be Amnesty International's executive director, Jack Healey. He'll speak April 29 at 7:30 p.m. on "The Death Penalty as Human Rights Abuse." The speech is free and open to the public.Sessions will be held at the Salt Lake Community High School, 233 W. Second North. Workshop topics will include monitoring capital cases and avoiding the death sentence, visiting and corresponding with death-row inmates, understanding the Racial Justice Act and reaching out to victims' families.
