"The Animal-Human Team: Partners in Medical Progress" is the topic for the third annual essay contest sponsored by the Committee for Animals in Research and Education in Utah, a community group that supports medical research using animals.
Three finalists will be chosen from among Utah high school students who write essays on the role humane animal research has played in medical advances. Students in public, private or parochial schools are eligible to enter.The first-place winner will receive a $500 cash award; second-place and third-place winners will each receive $100.
Entries should be no longer than 750 words, and must be postmarked by April 3. A cover sheet listing the student's name, address, telephone number and school must be included. Send essays to CARE-Utah Writing Competition, 661 S. Second East, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
