It seems that the Freddy Krueger doll - modeled on the killer you love to hate in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series - has become a quiet hit where the toys are. Freddy's admittedly tarnished image, complete with the talons he uses for nails, has racked up $3 million in sales, Stephen Abramson, a vice president for New Line Cinema, said. And that's just the beginning. The international popularity of the horror film series has New Line executives and marketing types planning to distribute Freddy Krueger dolls in Europe. Freddy, who has turned actor Robert Englund into a cult favorite, will be back stalking the dreams of hapless teenagers in "Nightmare on Elm Street V." The movie begins shooting next month and will be released late this summer.
