A Clinton toddler was listed in fair condition Friday at a Layton Hospital after suffering some 150 bee stings in her back yard Thursday. Her father, trying to rescue her, was stung 30 to 40 times, according to the Davis County Sheriff's Office.

Courtinie Pollard, 2, was stung repeatedly while playing in her back yard at 2198 W. Eighth North in Clinton.Her father, Douglas Pollard, was stung 30 to 40 times by bees from what the family thought was an abandoned hive. He was treated and released Thursday night.

Paramedics Dave Fluckiger and Tadd Lowe treated Courtinie first because her father initially showed no adverse reaction to the stings, said sheriff's Capt. K.S. Simpson.
