The Utah Department of Transportation has reopened U-72 from Fremont Junction at I-70 over Hogan Pass to Fremont in Sevier and Wayne counties. The road was one of several in the state that had been closed for the winter.

The state tries to reopen all seasonal-use roads each year by the Memorial Day weekend, but heavy snow accumulation and cold temperatures can keep them closed longer.Roads still closed include U-39, Monte Cristo Road; U-167, Trapper's Loop Road; U-65, East Canyon Road over Big Mountain; U-152, Guardsman's Pass; U-Mirror Lake Road; U-92, Alpine Loop Road; U-25, Fish Lake Road; U-153, Beaver Canyon Road from Mount Holly to U.S. 89, and U-148, Cedar Breaks Road.

Other roads still closed are U-35, Wolfcreek Pass from Woodland to the North Fork of the Duchesne River; U-224, from Wasatch Mountain State Park to the junction with Guardsman's Pass and on to Park City; and U-220, from Midway via Cascade Springs to Wasatch Mountain State Park.
