The University of Utah is accepting student applications for its first executive master's of public administration classes.

Daniel C. McCool, assistant professor of political science and MPA director, said the program is for professionals with at least five years of experience in the public sector or not-for-profit institutions.So that students can continue working, the 23-month program is offered on weekends and in three one-week sessions during summer quarter.

McCool said there are only nine other executive MPA programs, mostly on the East and West coasts.
