Knowing where you've been in South Jordan may not be enough to help you know where you're going in the future.

The city has found itself forced to change some street and house numbers as it prepares for an enhanced emergency services dispatching system later this year in Salt Lake County.Crews verifying street numbers and house numbers in preparation for the new service discovered that a few streets have been numbered incorrectly. Several residents have been notified that they are living at a new address - even though the house hasn't moved.

City officials say the changes are minimal but may be somewhat inconvenient for a while.

And though the numbers may change on paper, the mind-set of local residents is another story.

"I don't care if it does say 10550th South on the street sign, it will always be 106th South," said Councilman Ted Sandstrom.
