Coming home to a hero's welcome, Randall Dale Adams said the 12 1/2 years he spent in Texas prison for a murder he did not commit was like "standing in a twilight zone" with bars.

Adams, whose innocence was championed by the documentary film "The Thin Blue Line," revealed a hint of bitterness Friday when he learned that John Vance, district attorney for Dallas County, Texas, had dismissed all charges against him and will not seek a new trial."That's speaks well of Mr. Vance, even though he dragged his heels (on reopening the case)," Adams said. He then explained that he would have to defer further comment until he talks with his lawyer.
