George "Bud" Haymond was lauded for years of selfless service as he retired from the Central Utah Board of Health.

County commissioners presented Haymond with a plaque honoring him for serving as a county representative on the Health Board from April 1977 until January 1988.The Central Utah Board of Health controls the six-county health program in Sanpete, Juab, Millard, Sevier, Wayne and Piute counties.

Haymond was a pharmacist and owned Nephi Drug from 1938 until he sold the business in 1976. He worked at the county hospital pharmacy from its beginning in 1952 until he retired April 1, 1988.

Haymond has also been a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Nephi Jaycees and the Nephi Lions Club.
