The National Endowment for the Arts is seeking to honor a few individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to non-profit theater in America - and the honor to be bestowed is a profitable prize.

"This new pilot effort of the Theater Program offers a maximum of four one-time fellowships of $25,000 annually," said acting Arts Endowment Chairman Hugh Southern.

The fellowships will be awarded on the basis of nominations submitted to the Theater Program. Qualified individuals nominated for an award must have produced a distinguished body of work during a substantial career in theater.

The deadline for nominating individuals is April 15. For more information, write: Distinguished Artists Fellowships-Theater Program, National Endowment for the Arts, Room 608, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20506.
