Photographs of more than 500 outstanding high school seniors are included in this special Sterling Scholar section that is published exclusively in the Deseret News.

They represent the "cream of the crop" in the graduating class of 45 high schools along the Wasatch Front. Twelve categories of study, ranging from English and science to industrial education and home economics, are represented.The Deseret News and KSL Inc., sponsors of the program, established the awards especially to focus public attention on the performance of the state's best scholars.
