A confessed North Korean agent told a court Tuesday through her sobs that she should be punished for planting a bomb that destroyed a South Korean airliner, killing all 115 people aboard.

At the hearing in Seoul District Court, Kim Hyon-hui said she did not believe she had any right to a defense and she would tell the court everything about the 1987 bombing."I knew that I committed a grave crime, and I thought I deserved whatever punishment," she said in a hushed voice. The 27-year-old Kim, who could face the death sentence, said she hoped her death would ease the suffering of the victims' relatives.
