Visitors to Canyonlands National Park will now be asked to pay a fee in order to enjoy the natural beauties the area has to offer.
Visitors entering the park are required to pay $3 for a private vehicle, or $1 per person if riding a bicycle or motorcycle, traveling as a member of a tour bus, or walking. The permit will be good at any entrance for seven days after the purchase date.Frequent visitors to Canyonlands and Arches National Park can buy an annual pass for $10, which is good for unlimited entry into either park during 1989. The $25 Golden Eagle Passport provides unlimited entry into all areas of the National Park System for the calendar year.
The Golden Access Passport, for handicapped visitors, and the Golden Age Passport for American citizens 62 and older, continue to be available free of charge. Fees will benefit all areas of the National Park System through a variety of projects.
