In his first outdoor meet of the season, BYU All-American sprinter Frank Fredericks qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while setting meet records in both events at the Willie Williams invitational Friday night.

Fredericks clocking was 10.25 in the 100 and 20.63 in the 200. All events Friday night were trials, except the discus throw where BYU's Brent Patera placed third with a mark of 167-8 and Jack Mohr was sixth with 159-6.
