A preliminary hearing has been scheduled May 3 for two Utah men accused of trying to take a Denver man to Utah to face a misdemeanor drunken driving charge, Denver District Court officials said Friday.

Terry Mansfield, 20, West Jordan, and Michael Weddington, 22, Murray, were advised of their rights Thursday in Denver County Court. The two originally were charged with burglary and kidnapping, but the charges were reduced Thursday to felony criminal mischief. The two allegedly broke down the door of Andy Cadwell's Denver home March 3, handcuffed him, and, while the 22-year-old man was still in his pajamas, put him in a car and drove away, investigators said.

Cadwell was wanted in Utah on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. The suspects were stopped in Grand Junction, Colo., and returned to Denver.
