The son of Utah Valley Community College President Kerry Romesburg who broke his neck in a swimming accident was upgraded to good condition Friday at University Hospital.

Rod Romesburg, 20, was hospitalized earlier this month with serious neck injuries suffered in a diving accident in Mexico.Romesburg, an Arizona State University student, was swimming in the ocean near Mazatlan when he was struck by a strong wave that wrenched and broke his neck. He remains partially paralyzed from the accident.

He was airlifted on an international flight to Salt Lake City where a University Hospital nursing supervisor said his condition has improved from fair to good.
