A blind prison inmate convicted of murder escaped from a doctor's office with the help of an ex-convict Friday, leaving two guards and a doctor bound with tape.
Associate Warden Tom Dowdle of the state prison in Stillwater said the inmate - Larry Donnell Hill, 39 - was taken by two guards to a doctor's office in the Medical Arts Building in downtown Minneapolis early Friday.Dowdle said Hill was blind in both eyes and the two guards took him to the doctor to get a false eye replaced.
"While he was in an examing room, an armed person came in with a handgun," Dowdle said. "He tied up the two guards with tape and tied up the doctor also. Then he took Hill and the two men left."
The doctor got loose and called authorities.
