Willem Dafoe, Edward James Olmos and Robert Loggia are off to Katowice, Poland, to star in "Triumph of the Spirit," a drama of courage and survival set in the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.

The film is based on the true story of Salamo Arouch (played by Dafoe), a young Greek boxing champion interned at Auschwitz and who was forced into the ring against fellow prisoners in gladiator-style battles where only the victor survived.A spokesman for producer Arnold Kopelson said the film is the first produced almost entirely on location at Auschwitz. One week of the 12-week scheduled filming will be shot on locations in Israel.

- Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets, has signed a contract with Golden Harvest to create all the characters for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," a movie planned for release during the Christmas holiday.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is being directed by Steve Barron and produced by Kim Dawson.

A spokesman for Golden Harvest said Henson was signed to bring uniquely original creatures to the screen.
