The locals of Corcoran, Calif., didn't mind a prison being built in their San Joaquin Valley community, but they are upset about Charles Manson being brought in. Manson, 52, was transferred to the year-old maximum-security prison Wednesday from San Quentin. "It's kind of a scary feeling when you know someone like that is living near you," waitress Dolly Goldsmith, 58, said. I just feel he should be nowhere. Why is he still alive and in anyone's midst?" Another resident, Judith Syra, 46, says Manson's "family" is her biggest concern. "I know Manson's safe behind bars and can't get out," she said. "What really scares me is that his followers will resettle in Corcoran to be near their guru."
