Gov. Norm Bangerter has appointed Bountiful resident George S. Burbidge to fill the unexpired term of Ezra T. Clark on the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District board.

Clark, who has served on the board for 24 years, recently resigned when he moved from Bountiful to Holladay, Ivan Flint, district manager, said.Burbidge, a faculty member in the Criminal Justice Department at Weber State College, will join the nine-member board that provides irrigation and culinary water to Davis, Weber, Morgan and Summit counties. The district also controls water stored in nine reservoirs.

Burbidge will be one of three members representing Davis County.

Burbidge was the former executive director of the Utah Chiefs of Police and Utah Sheriffs associations. He holds a master's degree in public administration and management from the University of Utah.
