Two out-of-state deer hunters face a May 31 trial in 6th Circuit Court on charges of poaching a trophy buck in Southern Utah.

Barrett Wynn, 30, Mancos, Colo., and Larry Smith, 42, West Harrison, Ind., are accused of possession of a deer taken out of season and with wasting the animal's carcass. The two, who are free on bond, are also scheduled for an April 26 pretrial motion hearing before Judge David Mower.

The suspects were arrested Dec. 11, 1988, after their pickup truck was stopped near Kanab. The head of a trophy buck with a 391/2-inch antler spread was found in the vehicle, said Utah Wildlife Resources Division officials.
