The annual Fort Buenaventura State Park Spring Rendezvous, normally held over the Easter holiday weekend, has been postponed until April because bad weather has hampered construction.

The 32-acre park located on the Weber River in Ogden sustained wind damage last fall, and wet conditions this season have slowed preparation for the re-creation of a "mountain men" gathering. The three-day event has been scheduled for April 21-23 and will feature traders dressed in clothing from the era when fur traders gathered to trade their beaver pelts for supplies. A $10 trading fee will be charged.

Camping will be available for lean-tos and tepees around the fort, but trailers will be confined to the parking lot. The fee for overnight camping will be $5, and the fee for daytime use of the park during the event is $3 per vehicle or $1 for participants arriving on foot or on a bicycle.

Planned activities during the rendezvous include shooting matches, a "mountain man" run and a knife throw. Minimal fees will be set for the activities, and participants will be competing for some $2,500 in donated prizes.
