Organist Walter Whipple will be featured in a recital Friday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle as guest of the Utah Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

A native of Idaho, Whipple studied in high school with Alexander Schreiner, at Ricks College with Ruth Barrus, and at Brigham Young University with J.J. Keeler. He has also studied with Irene Robertson at the University of Southern California and with Michael Radulescu at the University of Vienna, in Austria. He is on leave from the faculty of Rockford College in Illinois to pursue advanced studies at BYU.The program will include the Eleven Chorale Preludes of Johannes Brahms, plus J.S. Bach's Prelude and fugue in E-flat Major, called "Saint Anne." A $1 donation is being asked of organ guild members and $2 for those who are not members.
