A 4th District judge has postponed sentencing of a 20-year-old Provo woman charged with aggravated assault, pending the results of 90-day diagnostic examination at the Utah State Prison.

Judge Ray M. Harding on Friday told the defendant, Rebecca M. Lott, that the court could not adequately address sentencing without results of a mental evaluation.Harding ordered Lott to report to the county jail March 20 for transfer to the state prison. She will return to court for sentencing June 16.

Lott originally was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder but pleaded guilty in December to reduced charges of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, and driving under the influence of alcohol "with injury," a class A misdemeanor.

The charges stem from a hit-and-run incident last Oct. 2 that left two people hospitalized, one in critical condition.
