A Union Pacific train engineer reported a body floating in the Jordan River Tuesday.

The engineer was in a train westbound about 10:30 a.m. when he spotted the body in the river between North and South Temple streets, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Bill Shelton.The body of an unidentified adult male was removed about 11:30 a.m. and taken to the medical examiner's office. The cause and time of death were unknown Tuesday.
