With a strong showing Friday in the slalom event, BYU claimed second place in the women's alpine combined team portion of the U.S. Collegiate Skiing Championships.

The best finish in the two-run slalom by a BYU skiier was turned in by Melissa Sneddon, who claimed fifth place with a 99.39 time. Megan Carey of Colorado Mountain College took first place.Other BYU finishers were Anette Harildstad (12th), Janilee Jones (23rd), Raquel Weldon (34th) and Mary Jo Nyman (42nd).
