A 14-year-old accused of killing his father must remain in Ada County jail for now, a 4th District magistrate judge has ruled.
Jeremy Broadhead has been charged as an adult in the shooting death of Steven Broadhead on Feb. 23."It is the law of this state that the defendant be detained in an adult facility," Richard Schmidt ruled Friday.
Schmidt did say incarceration in the Juvenile Detention Center was in Broadhead's best interest although the law did not mandate that. He will remain in the jail out of sight and sound of adult inmates.
