Items ranging from embossed silver to furniture to table linens used in the Hotel Utah were auctioned Saturday to raise money for a permanent home for the Utah Art Council's State Fine Art Collection. Memorabilia from the hotel, which was closed in 1987, included a table full of silverware. The items were available to the public Saturday afternoon. Other pieces, including an antique sleigh bed from one of the hotel's Heritage suites and rare china, were the highlights of an auction held after a $35-a-plate black-tie dinner. The event drew collectors and Utahns looking for a bit of history to remind them of the hotel.
