Rod Romesburg, 20, son of Utah Valley Community College President Kerry Romes-burg and Judy Romesburg, was serious condition Friday in University Hospital, where he is being treated for spinal cord injuries.

The youth, an Arizona State University sophomore whose neck was broken Monday while vacationing in Mexico. He was swimming at Mazatlan when hit by a large wave that wrenched his neck, breaking it.
