KISN Radio (FM-97.1 and AM-570) will be moving from North Salt Lake Monday into new studios at 4000 S. Seventh East.
"The new site gives KISN a more centralized location and a much more efficient broadcast facility," KISN general manager Randy Rogers said. "And those are two things we needed."KISN has been at 1550 W. 23rd North (west of the north end of Beck Street) since 1965.
"This move is a shot in the arm for all of us," Rogers said, stressing that this is a facility change only.
KISN will still play its adult hits type of music on a simulcast of both AM and FM, except when there will be sports coverage and Utah Jazz play-by-play on the AM band.
-KRSP (FM-103.5 and AM-1060) is searching for Utah's longest-running car.
Any non-commercial car, truck or van is eligible in the contest that will give the owner of the vehicle with the most miles a trip for two to Florida's Disney World (air fare, seven days/
six nights of hotel accommodations and car rental).
Entrants should send a postcard to "Longest Running Car," KRSP, P.O. Box 7760, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.
Entries must include name, address and phone number as well as the car's mileage, year, make and model.
All entrants will be eligible for daily prize drawings (racing jackets and classic oldies tapes).
- Listeners also have a chance at winning Caribbean cruises for three couples by listening to the "Dawn Patrol" (Jon Carter and Dan Bammes) weekdays.
The station announces the CD of the day at 7:15 a.m., and when any of the songs are heard later that day, the first person to call in at 570-KRSP wins that CD, as well as a pizza certificate.
All daily winners will later be invited to a private party where three lucky names will be drawn for the Caribbean Cruises.
-KBER (FM-106.5) has announced that John Edwards, program director, has also been named operations manager and corporate program director for all KBER affiliated stations.
KKER, alias the Golden Bear, in Albuquerque, has an oldies format, while KXBR in Springfield, Mo., will attempt to duplicate sister station KBER's format.
- KBER is also planning a live St. Patrick's Day remote broadcast Friday from 7-10 a.m. from Winchell's at 200 S. 350 East.
