A Salt Lake man has been booked into jail for investigation of witness tampering, theft and being a material witness in the death of a 40-year-old Salt Lake woman.

Robert Walter Peltz, 46, was being held in the Salt Lake County Jail Saturday on more than $90,000 bail, a jailer said.According to a police report, on March 5, a man unlawfully entered a secured crime scene at 1461 S. West Temple - the location where Patricia Joan Finsley, 40, was found dead March 2.

The man removed property belonging to Peltz and James F. Finsley, 45, the victim's husband, who has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide. Police say the property was later pawned at a Salt Lake shop.
