A Coast Guard helicopter Saturday lowered two pumps to three people trying to save a sinking fishing vessel in the Gulf of Mexico 73 miles southeast of Freeport, Texas.

The 38-foot Dolphin radioed for help and the helicopter took off on the rescue mission at 8:25 a.m. The 82-foot Coast Guard cutter Point Monroe was expected to tow the Dolphin back to Freeport Saturday night.Chief Petty Officer Mark Kennedy, Coast Guard spokesman for the Houston-Galveston area, said there were two men and one woman on the boat and that they were not in serious danger. Their names were not immediately known, he said.
