Washington State University officials are meeting in Seattle with applicants for the Cougars' football coaching job vacated by Dennis Erickson.
Ray Dorr, an assistant coach at USC; Mike Price, 42, head coach and athletic director at Weber State; and Paul Hackett, 41, until recently the pass offense coordinator of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, were in Seattle to interview with Athletic Director Jim Livengood, The Spokesman-Review newspaper of Spokane reported today.Dorr, 47, is one of about 80 people who have expressed interest in replacing Erickson, who resigned to become head coach at the University of Miami, Livengood said.
Dorr headed the Southern Illinois football program for four years. His record there was 17-27.
Price, who played football with Livengood at Everett Junior College, was a candidate for the Washington State job when Erickson was hired two years ago.
Hackett has never been a head football coach, but was an assistant who helped develop quarterbacks at California before joining the pro ranks as an assistant at Cleveland, San Francisco and then the Cowboys in 1986.
