The Department of Social Services announced the appointment of Percy Devine as director of the Division of Aging and Adult Services. The 10-year veteran of the division had been serving as coordinator for programs including information and referral, transportation and older-worker employment.
He replaces Robert Ward, who resigned earlier this year.Devine will be responsible for overseeing Older Americans Act Programs, serving as liaison to area agencies on aging, the state board and state advisory council, and development of a comprehensive service delivery system throughout the state's aging network. He will also be responsible for adult services such as adult day treatment, foster care and protective services.
The new director has a master's degree in social work from the University of Utah and earned his bachelor's degree at Weber State.
