Denver Rangers co-owner Richard Gerry has acknowledged that he has talked to Kansas City officials about possibly moving the franchise to that city's Kemper Arena next season.

Gerry, who owns the franchise along with Sidney Shlenker and United Cable Co., met with Kansas City officials last week to discuss the possible move. While Gerry on Monday called the discussions "nothing more than preliminary," he claimed the team's average attendance of 2,000 is only half of what he needs to break even.
