A Salt Lake man was being held in jail this weekend in connection with the death of his wife.

The body of Patricia Joan Finsley, 40, was found in her residence at 1461 S. West Temple on Friday morning, Police Lt. Norm Thompson said. A local attorney notified authorities of a body at the duplex. The victim was found lying at the bottom of the stairs, dead from apparent head injuries, Thompson said. An autopsy was being conducted this weekend.

"We haven't been able to determine a clear motive, but we suspect this may have resulted out of a family dispute. We have taken the husband into custody," said homicide Sgt. Chuck Cockayne.

The 45-year-old man's name was not released pending filing of charges.
