Two service stations were robbed Thursday by armed bandits, both of whom escaped on foot, authorities say.

The Sinclair station, 110 W. Ninth South, was held up about 8 p.m. by a man wielding a knife, said police Lt. Steve Diamond.Salt Lake County deputy sheriffs said Holiday Oil at 4820 S. Highland Dr. was held up by a 5-foot-2-inch man who held a gun on the clerk. The man fired shots, reportedly blanks, at a wall during the 10 p.m. robbery.
