A Salt Lake man faces a March 22 preliminary hearing on a charge he stabbed another man to death during a fight at a party Saturday.

Michael Leon Jensen, 23, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jeremy P. Vigil, 20.According to police, Vigil and some friends crashed a party at 1497 W. Fourth South about 1 a.m. but were not welcome.

A fight erupted outside the residence, and Vigil was stabbed in the leg, the knife piercing an artery.

Vigil bled to death while his cousin was taking him to the hospital, police said.
