Dr. John Seaman, a psychologist with Granite School District for 15 years, has been honored as school psychologist of the year.
The state association of school psychologists made the designation during its annual meeting in the University of Utah Alumni House. The honor was given during a dinner meeting last week.Seaman has been a student counselor at Central High School, Granite's alternative school, and others in the district. He teaches a class at the U. and has been providing family counseling through Granite Family Educational Resource Center.
He has developed special programs to aid teachers and parents of children with learning disorders, aimed at early intervention for these children.
