A task force of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing a report on child care and how it relates to business.

Ramona Rudert, task force chairwoman, said the report will focus on child care availability, affordability and quality and the relationship of these issues to employee productivity and absenteeism. She said 59 percent of Utah women work and that by the year 2000 that figure is expected to increase to 61 percent. The report will be completed by early summer.

Asked if there will be a charge for the report, Wm. James Mortimer, chairman of the chamber's board of governors, said the issue of charging for the report will be evaluated, but it will be distributed to legislators and other interested people.
