"Light Up Your Life With Literacy" will bring some of the nation's top reading researchers to a conference at the Salt Lake Hilton Friday and Saturday.

Donna Alvermann, senior author of the D.C. Heath Basal Reading Series, and Jack Prelutsky, a children's author and poet, will be featured speakers at the event sponsored by the Utah Council of the International Reading Association.Other speakers will include P. David Pearson, University of Illinois; Dale D. Johnson, International Reading Association vice president; and Jeannette Veatch, Arizona State University professor emeritus.

Parents, teachers and administrators participate in the conference dedicated to building literacy.
