Trial for a Bountiful man charged with arson in the fire at his home last summer is scheduled for April 26 in 2nd District Court. Carl L. Stephens, 57, of 3338 S. 475 West, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Stephens is charged with arson, a first-degree felony that carries a prison term of five years to life, in the incident. Prosecutors for the Davis County attorney's office declined to give many details on the incident, other than to say they believe the fire was set for personal financial gain.The trial is expected to take three to four days because of the amount of expert and technical testimony that will be offered, attorneys said.
