A homeless woman who says she "just wants 10 minutes of the governor's time" was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a warrant accusing her of spray-painting pillars, statues and walls at the State Capitol on Friday.
Nina Diane Mincarelli, 43, was arrested at the women's shelter, 109 S. Eighth West, about 9 a.m. and booked on a third-degree felony charge of criminal mischief. Also named on the charge are two John Does.According to the charge, Mincarelli and two unknown persons spray-painted slogans demanding that the cause of the homeless be heard.
The spray-painting vandalism will cost more than $1,000 to repair, said Jack Quintana, assistant director of facilities.
The charge carries a possible penalty of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
